Exploring Naches

July 22nd, 2007

After most the people headed home from the Naches Pass Run Test Dummy and I did some exploring. We drove the roads off Milk Creek Road looking for camp spots for the Shoestring run.

We only found one close camp spot on the FS591 road.

We drove back to and on up FS590. We saw a few good places to get a big group into. We drove on up to the bottom of the Lily Pond Trail.

We turned around and headed back down.

This is right at the Lily Pond Trail head after we turned around.

We turned up Milk Creek Road at stopped to let the kids and dogs out where they made Milk Creek Road a trail.

After a small break we went down Milk Cree Road and checked out other places to camp.

Since the day was still young we decided to check out the Kaner Trail by road. We started off running FS1903 and then onto 1901. We turn off 1901 and ran down a FS road to see that part of Kaner.

Here is looking at Kaner from (I think) FS722.

We headed back to FS1901. We made our way up the mountain on FS1901, FS1915 and then on FS743 which we ended up at Lily Pond.

From there we took Kaner down a ways.

Here is a big drop off the end of the bridge.

We ran Kaner to down to where there it because a Black Diamond trail. We turn off there because of Test Dummy's lower control arm bracket was in need of repair and we didn't want to press it to hard. We went back to camp and headed home.
