On Friday June 30th, 2006 I went up the Tree Phones with the RV pulling my XJ. We set up camp and the other pulled in around 7 PM. Jacob, Test Dummy, Tiny and Roll Over went riding. They went up the Mid Fork to Darland Mountain and then down to Blue Lake.
They had to run the North fork to the Whites Ridge Cross over trail to get back up to Tree Phone because of the snow on the north side of Darland. It was dark the time they got back. Jacob left for home.
The next morning (Saturday July 1st) Tiny, Flippy, Test Dummy, Roll Over and I (Ceg) headed out to Do the Dew. Our first stop was on Darland Mountain.
Next we head off the North side of Darland. There were some deep snow patches.
We went on up passed Blue Lake to Blue Slide Lookout.
After a short break we headed to 613.
The first part of 613 had a lot of snow on the trail.
We stopped for a picture with Dome Peak in the background.
We stopped on Strobach Mountain for a break.
We could see there were a lot of boats on Rimrock Lake.
It was 1:30 PM the time we got there. We were running late so we headed back.
I stopped to get a 613 trail picture.
Back up on top of Foundation Ridge we played in the snow some. We had to winch a few times.
After the snow we passed Toyotawheelin on the trail.
Our Last stop was at Blue Lake.
After the lake we went back to Tree Phones. Flippy and Roll Over had to go home.
When we were out riding, Fatboy came and set up camp. We all went up the Darland and watched the sunset.
The next morning (Sunday June 2nd) we headed up to Blue Lake. Tiny and Test Dummy were on quads. Fatboy and I were in our Jeeps. We stopped at Snow Cabin Camp Ground so the kids could use the out house.
Next stop was at Blue Lake.
We let the kids play in the lake for awhile and then headed up to Blue Slide Lookout. On the way up we had to stop for a bunch of rigs coming down out of the trees. Here this one guy runs over and ask if I was Ceg from NW Wheelers. I said, "yes I was". He said he was Karl VP for that forum. I was shock to meet him on the trail. We didn't get to talk much. He had to run because they were leaving him. He was wheelin' with the Timber Tamers at Rimrock.
We stopped at Blue Slide Lookout.
We decide to see if we could make it down Jackass Rd. We hit just a few snow patches.
Here I stopped for a picture of us crossing the Grey Rock Trail.
Here we stopped for a picture with Dome Peak in the background.
We ran Jackass Rd down to the North Fork Rd. We then took the Whites Ridge Crest Trail back up the mountain.
Fatboy wiping the dust off his TJ.
We got back up to Tree Phones and Fatboy had to head home. Tiny, Test Dummy and I stayed and left the next day.
This was a great run.
