Mother's Day Run
May 13th and 14th, 2006
This Mother's Day run we camped at the Ahtanum Sno-park. We only had these three rigs on this run.
We left Sno-park a little after 11 AM and headed up A2400 to Red Saddle.
Next we headed up the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail.
The snow was deep in the shaded areas.
Well I buried it here.
Test Dummy hooked up to pull me out.
Well that didn't work to well because I was stuck good. Tiny had to hook his XJ up to Test Dummy's XJ to get my XJ out.
After I got out and turned around, we ran the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail back to Red Saddle. We took A2400 over to the South Fork A1000 at ran it up until the snow got to deep and to soft to go any father. We meet a group of quads that couldn't make it though. That is when we headed back to Red Saddle for a break to let the kids and dog run. After a short break we headed down the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail toward Tampico. Here are a few pics of the end of that trail.
Ceg, Test Dummy and Tiny
99, Monster and Doc
After a few pics we loaded up and headed back up the Sedge Ridge Crest Trail and then down A2420 to A2400. At A2400 we ran down the mountain to the Ahtanum Sno-park to reload up on drinks.
Ok back on the road again. We head up the Mid Fork up to Tree Phones camp ground. The snow was getting deep. We went on through the camp ground and headed up A2800.
It took Test Dummy a few runs to get going.
Test Dummy's tires were just digging so we decided to go back down.
Here at the Tree Phone sign to snow wasn't very deep and the dirt road was showing a few yard down the hill.
We headed down the Mid Fork and then ran the Whites Ridge Cross-over Trail to the Whites Ridge Crest Trail. We ran the Crest trail up only a little ways because the snow got deep fast. We turned around and ran the Whites Ridge Crest Trail all the way down to the Mid Fork and then went back to camp for the night.
The next morning (Mother's Day) we headed up the North Fork to just past Snow Cabin Camp Ground.
The snow was real deep on one side and it was pushing us off the road into the ditch because of the slant. To Tread Lightly we turned around so we would tear up the road.
Here are the boys being good. Doc and Bubz.
We got turned around and then ran the North Fork down to the Whites Ridge Cross-over Trail. We almost made it the top of Whites Ridge from the north side, but the snow got to soft to continue. I think this was the last switch-back on the Whites Ridge Cross-over Trail before you get to the top of Whites Ridge.
We turned around again and headed down to the paved road and then ran Jackass Rd until the snow got deep on Foudation Ridge. I was making it a little at a time but Test Dummy got stuck.
I turned around and went to where his rig was stuck.
Tiny turned around and pull Test Dummy out.
Here are the boys playing on the snow banks.
We went back to the sno-park and loaded up for home. This was a great run with a lot of fun in the snow and sun. All three rigs past there new mod test. You guys miss a great easy run. It felt great to be back up high in the mountains.
