For our Memorial Day Run we went to the Ahtanum. Uncle Jerry, Hank, Mandy and I (Clay) went up Tuesday afternoon to set up camp at the Sno-park. Knowing the size of the group, this was to best place to camp. Around midnight Ron, Christina, Ed, Kari and Ed's friend showed up. Friday afternoon Richard, Connie, Les, Lisa and Charlie showed up. Everyone on this run was off roading with quads. Last year we had a Cherokee wheelin' with the quads.
Eagle Nest is a great vista.
Darland Mountain
I rode up to Darland Mountain 3 times during our time camping for Memorial Day. Going to Darland Mountain was tough. Wednesday was the first run up Darland Mountain. We had to go the last 3 miles in the deep snow. We made the tracks up to the top. Only half of the group made it all the way up.
The second time I rode up to Darland Mountain was on Saturday. Les and Lisa's 2 wheel drives were getting stuck in the deep tire tracks in the snow. I had to pull Lisa’s quad out a few times. One time I got stuck trying to get her quad out. Lucky I had a winch.
My 3rd trip up to Darland Mountain was on Sunday. It was tough because of all the different ruts and some of the snow melted and it was muddy. Everyone made it to the top. We were all muddy.

Here is the first group on the top of Darland on Wednesday. Mt Rainier in the back ground.
Sunday was our last big trip. We rode up to Darland Mountain and back. In this picture Hank is stuck and I just had been pulled out of the snow by Richard.

Blue Lake
The first run Thursday morning was to Blue Lake. We had no problem getting there because the snow was melted on the trails in.
A few members went to the top of Blue Slide. In this picture the rest of the group is at Blue Lake. You can kind of see us in the full size picture.

Saturday we went back to Blue Lake.
We put a lot of miles on our quads. You can see the miles we went by the trip meter on my Arctic Cat. I rode 218 miles and some of the other members may have rode more.
Monday we pack up camp and all went home. Uncle Jerry stayed at our house the night before he headed back to his home in Alabama. We are glad Uncle Jerry came out to ride quads with us. We hope he will make many more trips out here to the Northwest to ride with us.
